Building Families For Tomorrow takes a whole-family approach to helping women and children affected by incarceration in Kenya. While children receive safety, education, healthcare, and emotional support, mothers are equipped through counseling, biblical discipleship, vocational training, life skills, and business development.

As mothers and children reunite, BFFT continues walking alongside the family, providing the support needed to establish a home, build a sustainable income, and move toward independence. By addressing the challenges facing both mothers and children, we help break generational cycles of poverty and incarceration.

Our Family Restoration Model in Kenya

The Challenge
Many women in Kenyan prisons wait months—or even years—for trial. After release, women may face stigma, unemployment, poverty, and fractured family relationships that make rebuilding their lives extremely difficult.

Pathway to Restoration
Working alongside the Kenya Prison Service, Building Families For Tomorrow identifies women who are committed to changing their lives and welcomes them into a structured pathway toward restoration and independence.

Support for Children of Incarcerated Mothers
Children affected by their mothers' incarceration receive safe housing, education, healthcare, emotional support, and the stability they need to thrive.

Vocational & Business Training
Women receive counseling, biblical discipleship, life-skills training, vocational education, and small-business training to prepare them to support themselves and their families.

Family Reunification
Mothers and children are gradually reunited in a supportive environment where relationships can heal, trust can be rebuilt, and families can begin creating a new life together.

Transitional Support
For six months after completing the residential phase, women receive continued mentorship and decreasing financial support as they establish homes, grow their businesses, and move toward independence.
